The project consists in the realization of a series of structures to be placed on the main locations of the route, which could host exhibitions, information and booking points, etc., about the Silk Road.
The structures, though being different in size, will be built with the same materials and according the same building technique, formally drawing inspiration from silkworms hanging on stalks. In the architectonic reinterpretation, these become cover elements by weaving wires: a clear allusion to silk cocoons and a metaphor of the thick net of connections among people along the Silk Road.
The cover is also made by adding some cocoons’ covers, which could hypothetically be implemented to infinity, to mean the unlimited possibilities of development of new synergies in time and place.
